Clunes is and hopefully continues to remain a quaint small rural based village with a great sense of community. Having natural landscapes and undeveloped rural land so close to the centre of town gives it a great sense of its place in the natural landscape and maintains a clean managed environment that looks as if it is cared for.

I enjoy the proud village atmosphere, the friendly streets, local produce stores, local festive events, and the sprawling surrounding land with the dense living concentrated in the centre. This respects the quiet and nature filled farm life around without housing estates nor excessive subdivisions and development which so often lead to lost atmosphere and cherished culture and loss of neighbourhood character.
