Background to the project

Council has been undertaking the Clunes masterplanning project that included the development of long term masterplans for:

  • Queens Park
  • Pioneer Park
  • Clunes Recreation Reserve (Bull Milgate Reserve)

Refer to the project homepage for details on the draft masterplans.

During the development of the draft masterplan for the Clunes Recreation Reserve, community interest has evolved to consider an alternative option in servicing the future provision of sport and active recreation in Clunes. As a result, initial investigation work has been undertaken on consolidating sports and active recreation provision to an alternative greenfield site within Clunes.

Project Advisory Group

Expressions of interest have now closed to join the Clunes Recreation Provision Feasibility Project Advisory Group.

Members will work with Council and provide advice on further developing the work already undertaken on the draft Clunes Recreation Reserve Masterplan. This includes the possible consolidation of sports and active recreation provisions to a new (greenfield) site.

The purpose of the Clunes Recreation Provision Feasibility Project Advisory Group is to:

  • Further investigate and consider the feasibility of the future sport and active recreation provision in Clunes.
  • Determine how might we provide quality infrastructure that promotes community connection and active participation in Clunes.

The Project Advisory Group Terms of Reference will guide the work of this group. Expressions of interest closed on Wednesday 13 September 2023.
