Art to me is the magic of life, a breath of fresh air, mediation a expression of an emotion, a realization that we are all connected

Arts and culture is a wonderful opportunity to bring the community together on all levels. It’s a great way to assist emerging artists and local artists. And arts hub is a wonderful opportunity to create workshops, studios and galleries, Jobs for local artists and teachers, and a place to bring the community together for creativity, social connection. A town with a creative arts culture is a happy vibrant and successful Town.

Arts and culture bring the community together.
A permanent 'Arts Center' where local artists (visual, performing, etc) could teach, would generate employment to the plethora of local artists in our community.
A council Arts Center with a gallery space suitable for exhibitions and performance, plus teaching rooms would make the shire a true arts destination.
Currently there are only four art galleries which are privately owned, with limited opportunities for local artists to exhibit. Our community is promoted as and arts destination to tourists, yet we have no council or regional arts center.

Arts and culture keeps us connected to community, and connected communities are more resilient when it comes to facing adversity from things like natural disasters, which are only going to increase in frequency and severity as we move through the 21st century.
Arts and culture helps reflect society back at us so that we can examine our past and dream about our futures.
We must look at how we can better support our local artists with the appropriate spaces and infrastructure so that they in turn can support our community.

To me arts and culture provide enrichment to every aspect of life and also allows me to see some things from different perspectives so it enlarges my ability to engage with the broader community; it stretches me beyond what I can achieve and be on my own; and it satisfies needs that I hadn't even known I had before experiencing some artistic or cultural activiites.

Since childhood when my parents took me to the theatre every Tuesday night, and my Father introduced me to the local Library, the arts have been my loadstone, my guiding star, my door to understanding myself, and the world. If I had questions, I read a book, If I had doubts, I would go to the Art Gallery, if I wanted exercise I joined the ballet classes. Wanting to express my burgeoning adolescent soul, I painted and painted and drew. My drawings won awards, I felt self doubt leave me. Philosophy, Literature, visual Arts, Theatre, Film are my life. Nothing has changed, I am now 86.

Art is about a creative expression but culture is about a community response, expression, movement or norm, and can have heritage aspects that should be treated respectfully and not misrepresented (authentic).

Agree with everything in both the comments below. A place is poor without the arts.

A community that nurtures creativity is a healthy community. A place to be welcomed and included, to feel safe to explore new ideas is essential for the success of the above.
