Toilet facility upgrade

Council aims to provide high quality and fully accessible public facilities that are clean and well maintained.

We will upgrade seven toilet facilities around our Shire in 2021/2022, with works starting in November 2021.

These are:

  • Creswick – Calembeen Park
  • Trentham – Quarry Street Reserve Shelter and Toilet
  • Glenlyon – Glenlyon Hall Public Toilets
  • Clunes – Lee Medlyn Bottle Museum
  • Creswick – Hammon Park toilet upgrade
  • Clunes - Victoria Park
  • Daylesford – Victoria Park.

Creswick – Calembeen Park

This is the refurbishment of the existing brick building to house three large unisex accessible cubicles each with a shower and new fixtures and fittings. In addition, the existing path from the swimming area to the amenities will be upgraded to be accessible. The new path will also connect the amenities to a new accessible car parking space immediately adjacent to the building. Construction is intended to commence in September 2021.

Trentham – Quarry Street Reserve Shelter and Toilet

This is a major renovation of the existing toilets and pavilion. A proposed extension to the existing pavilion will also have the floor area levelled to improve accessibility. As well as the refurbishment of the existing toilets, an additional accessible facility will be constructed and connected to a new accessible car parking space. Construction will begin before the end of the year.

Floor designs for Trentham toilets

Glenlyon – Glenlyon Hall Public Toilets

A new fully accessible facility will be constructed at the rear of the Glenlyon Hall to include a unisex, accessible facility and two ambulant toilet cubicles. This will also be linked to the existing accessible parking space. Externally, motion sensor lighting will be included to ensure safety. Construction will begin before the end of the year.

Floor designs for Glenlyon toilets

Clunes – Lee Medlyn Bottle Museum

A new facility will be constructed to include a unisex accessible facility and two ambulant toilet cubicles. This will also be linked to a new disability compliant parking space. Externally, motion sensor lighting will be included to improve safety. The amenities will be positioned close to the existing carpark and facing towards the existing play area. Construction will begin before the end of the year.

Plans for toilets at Lee Medlyn

Creswick – Hammon Park toilet upgrade

A major new construction that will integrate with the Creswick Trails trail head. Hammon Park will receive a new public toilet facility that includes three ambulant cubicles, an accessible cubicle with shower and a changing place. A ‘Changing Places facility’ provides the highest level of accessibility in public toilets and includes an adult change table, electric hoist, shower, toilet, along with ample space to move around. This is the first of its kind in the Shire and all facilities will be unisex. Construction will begin before the end of the year.
