The provision of shade sail structures within Queens Park Playspace was identified as one of the key recommendations of the Queens Park Masterplan adopted by Council in March 2024. The project aligns with the Council Plan 2025-2029 and Community Vision 2031 will meet Council’s Playspace Strategy 2020-2030 vision of having a network of engaging, inclusive and sustainable Playspaces that are reflective of our people and our places.

The project has received $45,000 funding through Regional Development Victoria’s Round 1 Tiny Towns Fund with a co contributions from Hepburn Shire Council towards the delivery of the project.

The installation of a shade structure within the playspace of Queens Park will provide much needed sun protection and improve the community’s use of the Queens Park playspace.

The project is being delivered through a partnership between the State Government and Council with the project to be completed early 2026.
