Project overview

The upgrade of the existing Queens Park Playspace was identified as one of the key recommendations of the long-term vision of the Queens Park Masterplan that was adopted in March 2024.

In 2026 as part of the playspace upgrade, four shade structures were installed within the playspace which will improve the community’s activation, participation and enhancement opportunities. The installation of the shade structures was delivered through a partnership between the Victorian Government and Council through the Tiny Towns Fund.

Though this project does not include the provision of a complete equipment upgrade of the playspace, the replacement of the combination unit will work towards the long-term vision of the Queens Park Masterplan. In addition, the replacement of the equipment aligns with the Council Plan 2025-2029 and will meet Council’s Playspace Strategy 2020-2030 vision of having a network of engaging, inclusive and sustainable playspaces that are reflective of our people and our places.

The unit will include:

  • slide snake tube
  • glide and ride
  • monkey bar
  • cable rope net climber
  • sliding pole
  • vertical rock wall
  • steering wheel
  • vertical rope climber
  • agility bridge
  • crawl tunnel
  • activity barrels music with bells
  • and many other activities.
