Have your say in Hepburn Shire Youth strategy
Council is developing a new Youth Strategy to support young people within our communities. Council will soon be seeking input on the Draft Youth Development Strategy, which we have called ACE. ACE stands for:
- A: Advocating with and for young people on the issues that matter most to them,
- C: Celebrating our young people, their passions, skills, contributions, achievements and endeavours, and
- E: Elevating young people as leaders and decision making roles in our schools and communities, and in their own lives however they choose to live them.
This Strategy will provide direction for the development and coordination of services, programs, activities, and local community development processes that impact young people aged 12 years of age to 25 years of age in the Hepburn Shire.
Youth Voices count!
The Hepburn Shire Youth Census was a shire-wide youth engagement activity run by Hepburn Shire Council in partnership with Youth Gurus that gave young people, aged between 10 years of age and 25 years of age, a voice in what happens next to better serve young people living, working, studying or playing in our towns and communities.
The Youth Census finished on Friday 17 December 2021. The Census results and outcomes have been used to develop the Draft Youth Development Strategy.
